Dragging clips straight into your editor
Drag a clip onto your timeline
The fastest way to use a clip is to grab it from your Search results and drag it straight to your timeline in your editor — Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut and others all work. Brolla drags the actual file, not a copy or a placeholder, so it lands in your project ready to use.
Keep your editor open alongside Brolla, click and hold a clip, then drop it onto the timeline or into your project bins.
Dragging several at once
Need more than one clip? Select several in your search results and use Drag to export to pull them all out together. They drag as the real files, just like a single clip, so you can stage a whole batch in one move.
Other ways to get to a file
Sometimes you would rather find the file on disk than drag it. Brolla gives you two quick options on any clip:
- Show in Finder opens the folder containing the file and highlights it, so you can copy or import it however you like.
- Copy path copies the file’s full location to your clipboard, handy for pasting into an import dialog or a note.
Whichever method you choose, your original file stays exactly where it is in your library — dragging or copying never moves or changes it.
